Getting to Zuiderpark, Den Haag
A direct train from Amsterdam Central to Den Haag takes around 40 minutes, making it easy to combine with an Amsterdam city break.
We stayed at TRIBE Hotel Den Haag, which is approximately a 25-minute drive from Zuiderpark. Uber was easy to book to get to the festival.
At the end of the night, demand for taxis increases, so expect a short wait, but nothing too stressful.

First Impressions of Mirchifest
The festival area was easy to find; you can’t miss the desi music playing as you approach. Entry and security were quick and well organised.
Bags are searched, and you are not allowed to bring your own water bottles, which I personally found frustrating given the summer heat. It would be great to see water refill stations in the future.
Once inside:
- You need to purchase tokens to buy food, drinks, and use the toilets
- Food and drinks are on the expensive side (as expected at festivals)
- There are plenty of food options available
- A small fee is charged for bottle caps; you must return your empty bottle to avoid paying again
The Music
In 2025, the event ran across two days:
- Saturday – Adults Only
- Sunday – Family Friendly
This was my first festival, and I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised.
We arrived at 11 am when the gates opened, but the energy didn’t really build until around 4 pm. Next time, I would definitely arrive later in the afternoon.
The crowd was respectful and energetic:
- No pushing
- No chaos
- Plenty of space
- Easy to see the stage
The toilets were also well maintained for a festival (bring hand gel though, as there is no hand wash available).
Standout Performers:
- Sukha
- The Quick Style
- Jay Sean
- Jasmine Sandlas, the best performer of the weekend. Incredible energy and a complete vibe.
Hearing songs you love performed live, surrounded by people singing along, creates such a fun atmosphere.
Where to Stay
We stayed at TRIBE Hotel Den Haag, which was modern, comfortable, and conveniently located for getting around.
You could also stay in Amsterdam and travel in for the festival if you prefer a busier city base.
Final Thoughts:
If you’re looking for a fun, easy, and vibrant desi music festival in Europe, Mirchifest is definitely worth attending.
In 2026, the event officially rebranded from Mirchi Fest to Myrchfest, describing it as an evolution of the movement.
It’s perfect for a short, low-cost weekend trip with friends — combining music, culture, and a European getaway in one.
